While exploring downtown Los Angeles, you can find the Gallery Bar tucked away inside the historical Millennium Biltmore Hotel. Built in 1923, this hotel can be seen as the backdrop in various TV shows and movies. The architecture alongside the interior design definitely keeps the roaring 20’s alive and well.
In this instance, I tried the Sazerac while my husband tried the Manhattan with rye instead of bourbon.
I will say the drinks themselves were good, but felt like a bit of a gamble since the brand of whiskey they use in each drink is not printed in the menu. Upon asking, the server didn’t seem to know and was a bit difficult to understand. No matter, I still enjoyed the drink and the atmosphere. Neither cocktail was too sweet, and the flavors were balanced quite nicely.
I would definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the neighborhood, and also taking some time to explore the hotel a bit.
