When you’re ready for a cool refresher, the Mint Julep fits the bill! It’s a classic bourbon refresher, which is perfect for when it’s hot outside. Great drink for a BBQ or even staying cool while playing a favorite game. Cheers!

Mint Julep

1/4 oz simple syrup or 1 1/2 tsp superfine sugar and seltzer water
8-10 mint leaves
1 mint sprig for garnish
2.5 oz bourbon
Crushed ice

How To Make

Place mint leaves and your choice of syrup or sugar and water in your glass (julep, rocks, or old fashioned glass will work). Muddle together until the leaves start to break down. Add in a splash of seltzer water if using sugar. Fill the glass 3/4 of the way, add the bourbon, and a splash more seltzer water if desired. Stir all together and garnish with the mint sprig. You can also garnish with a few drops of citrus bitters, if desired.
